“She’s a goddess” was commissioned for a private residence in Black Mtn, NC. It was a fascinating evolution for me, starting with the loose idea of a mountain mermaid, as the house sits by an important local reservoir. The freedom I was given allowed this piece to slowly evolve. In an interesting nod to collective consciousness, her final state was closely tied to Chalchiuhtlicu, an Aztec goddess of lakes, streams, and oceans that I had never heard of until after the piece was completed.
